Happy May by Marvelous Meerkats!
April was a fun-filled, adventurous, cup-filling month for me! Why?!?! It was my birthday month! I entered my 36th trip around the sun, and truly, it feels good.
What all did I do?
Dined on delectable treats made by my sweetie and had a lovely birthday lunch date
Caught a cold, because life with an almost 18-month-old doesn't exist without that
Had drinks with some of my girlies at a lovely wine bar
Went to Sedona, Arizona, for a week to truly celebrate my birthday with amazing adventure and hiking with my two sweeties, Ricky and Leonora
Now we're approaching Mother's Day and my hubby's birthday!! April and May are back-to-back busy months for us! My family has two birthdays near the end of March, three in April, and three right near one another in May/June. It's a birthday bonanza, plus Mother's and Father's Day to boot.
Since I just got back from our amazing trip and am still catching my breath, I'm keeping this newsletter nice and simple with a relaxing timelapse painting of my calendar's "May" painting! One of my favorite parts about a wall calendar is flipping the page each month to a new design. If you couldn't tell, March was all about planting seeds, and April was about watering those seeds so that we could see those seeds grow and flourish in May!
I already have some fun ideas for new artwork inspired by my trip, so hopefully I'll be able to share those with you soon!! But for now, I included a snap of the Sedona area below (simply magical!!!)
What else have I been working on??? So much more back-of-house goodies, sketches for the 3rd ABCs of Grief book, inching away at wrapping up my book!!, and some fun chalk art for clients. It's been a month filled with fewer but larger projects, so my time feels both full and slow in a wonderful way.
As I promised, keeping it short this month for my sanity.
Cheers and see you in June (where I'll be sharing my annual Ricky birthday card!!)
xoxo,
Rachel
