My 2027 Calendar is HERE!!!!
Ahhhhh!!!!! My 2027 Calendar is HERE, and she is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!! I have been working on this calendar on and off all year long, and thank goodness, because I needed to take a major hiatus during the move.
I started to fear that at the end I wasn't going to finish in time, but ya girl got down to business and cranked it out!
If you do or don't remember, I made my very first calendar in 2024 for the 2025 calendar year, but last year I just plum didn't have the time to make one. So many of you reached out asking if another one was coming, and I was so sad to share that, in fact, no, I would not be making a 2nd one. So this year I knew in my heart of hearts it would be a priority. BUT with one BIG change...the printing. I decided the first one was a little too heavy. I had mine on the wall all of 2025, and while she did stay put, every time I flipped months I was like, "Dang girl, you are beautiful, but you are making this tiny little push pin do some heavy lifting."
Also, I decided to try out a new printer that ships the calendars for me; this way I'm not sitting on a massive pre-order and a lot of inventory in my office...It's an experiment this year. If all goes well, I will stick with them for next year; if all doesn't go well....I will simply move on! I, of course, ordered a tester for myself, and I'm really pleased with the physical copy!! This printer uses eco-friendly paper and prints this calendar double-sided to lower the paper usage. I've compiled some sneak peek pics, but I hope you purchase one for yourself! They are available now here and include free shipping!

The designs this year were heavily inspired by animals, but also the celebrations of the seasons and the food that comes to mind for me each month. As an example, April is my birth month, and I LOVE carrot cake. So I whipped up a painting of a bunny and a duck enjoying a big ol' carrot cake surrounded by flowers. (And by whipped up I mean I spent a LOT of time on the illustration).

February is my nod to a massive love of orange and chocolate!

The cover is a beautiful combo of all of the paintings that made this calendar. Y'all, I am really smitten with this year's designs.

The bottom left design is a nod to my momma's love of lemon (this is for March, her birth month). These are all of the original illustrations. After painting them, I scanned them into my computer, then edited them on my iPad. I also added additional elements to each painting to fill out the style more.

I painted June in the month of June, and I was craving pretzels, popcorn, and peanuts... and desiring a break from the heat, so a movie theatre scene was born. You can see the addition of the curtain to the top, and the hand-lettering for the month I added in.

September was a nod to apples - and a nod to the Jewish New Year!

November was inspired by my beautiful Leonora's love of Nutella and croissants on our trip to Europe last year, as well as her darling outfit she wore on her birthday. She is also represented as a black pup (my sweet Frankie). I made this painting well before he passed. It feels so much more meaningful now. You can see pics of Leonora making homemade Nutella and her cute little outfit from her birthday last year below.
May was inspired by my lovely Ricky and his obsession with bananas! Last year I made him banana bread for his birthday. I also made one of the animals a nod to Frankie.

December was inspired by pen pal vibes, and my bestie Teresa's love of gingerbread. I painted this knowing a move was coming and navigating a new era of friendship with my Houston friends. Knowing I wouldn't see them as often, but also knowing we would be catching up with one another in new ways.

I do hope you check out the calendar. It brought me so much joy creating these little paintings and I can't wait to hang it on my wall come 2027!!
Hope you all have a wonderful start to your November!
xoxo
Rachel
